The Science of Surface Free Energy
Advanced insights into adhesion and coating performance
Why do coatings fail even when dyne pen readings look fine? Why does adhesion drop despite clean-looking surfaces? The answer lies in understanding surface free energy (SFE) — a fundamental property that defines how materials interact. Join our live webinar hosted by Dr. Fiona Mary Antony (Lab Manager APAC, KRÜSS) to explore how contact angle-based methods provide precise and reproducible SFE data far beyond what traditional test inks can offer. Learn how to evaluate polar and disperse components of surface energy using the KRÜSS Drop Shape Analyzer (DSA) and Mobile Surface Analyzer (MSA) — and how these insights translate into improved process control and product reliability.

In this session, you will learn:
- How SFE governs adhesion, coating, and surface treatment performance
- Why contact angle analysis is the superior alternative to dyne pens
- How KRÜSS instruments deliver quantitative, model-driven surface evaluations
- Real-world application examples across industries
